Love this! I find it so important to take intentional time away from social media-especially in the consuming aspect. It's usually in that space the best ideas come forward and it really does allow us the time to reconnect with our own voices.
I absolutely loved this. I feel like there’s days where I’m endlessly scrolling and time seems to be moving so fast yet so slow at the same time. I think slowing down and being more present is such a beautiful reminder that life moves slower when you pay attention.
it’s rare if i take a social media break but i have found myself more distant with these apps, it’s all distractions in my life. i have myself realizing that i lost so many of fun activities because of social media presence and being afraid of ‘missing out’ when i miss being human.
Agreed! I just took two months off of social media and feel so recharged. Honestly, I wish it could have been longer but I do want to continue to chat about my work in that way until I can devise a good "next step" plan. :)
Love that you are sharing this, we just had a conversation about it here at the lake. How nice it is to spend the time that is automatically given in a “no wi-fi” situation and how most, myself included, are well served to be disconnected for awhile and have to find another way to occupy our brains. Like mother, like daughter……I got lost in a book. ❤️
Wow, that is, in a way, what I was trying to say in my ramblings. Make your own reality. We are stressed due to outside influences. Life is a long journey. Enjoy the trip and be yourself. I see more articles and essays on this. Knowing when to disconnect and not over do is real control. Bravo for coming back from the social media abyss. You know the way back and can by another guide for those who are trying to find the path. Each patth is different for each person. You got it!!

none of it feels human, well at least not now.
love your honesty.
yes being human is to learn new things and explore. so much of this requires us to be offline!

good for you, that's amazing! I find even just taking one day a week to be completely offline helps me to recenter and ground
I take breaks...but then again I'm old and I read books so it's easier for me than a lot of other people.
reading books is such a great alternative to social media!
WORD, it feels so good to realize what you don't want
